UK model Katie Price weds

LONDON (AP) - British model and tabloid favorite Katie Price has married her cage-fighter boyfriend Alex Reid in Las Vegas.

The couple says they married Tuesday "in a private, simple ceremony."

Price — better known as Jordan — began her career as a topless model in The Sun newspaper. Reality TV appearances, product endorsements and high-profile romances have made her one of the most famous women in Britain.

Price and Reid said in a statement Wednesday they were "very much in love." The statement said their decision to marry had not been made "with any preconceived commercial plan or media deal in place."

Price split from Australian pop singer Peter Andre last year and later began dating Reid. He has also gained TV fame, winning U.K. reality show " Celebrity Big Brother " last week.
